About Us

Above all else I strongly believe dogs should be allowed to be dogs, before any prize, trophy or competition. Colkeririn Ridgebacks are greatly loved dogs who live in our home, exercise with other dogs, interact with our family and friends, and are well socialized, even-tempered companions.

The name Colkeririn comes from our first four Rhodesian Ridgebacks: Colby Keira Indie and Rio. Colby and Indie, both bred in America with top winning champions behind them, and Keira and Rio had similar highly acclaimed dogs behind them from Australia, South Africa, America and the UK. Bringing the American and English lines together was a long time plan, so it is especially rewarding to have exhibited Seré as a 2nd generation Colkeririn, to win her Champion title from the UK Kennel Club in June 2019, and now be exhibiting our exciting youngster Skye in the UK show scene.

We enjoy spending time within Ridgeback communities, and over the years have played an active role in conformation, agility and lure coursing. Between them, our dogs have won a total of 15 titles from the FCI, American Kennel Club and The Kennel Club and we are extremely proud to own and have handled our glorious girl Rio to be the UK's Top Rhodesian Ridgeback for 2012, joint Top Rhodesian Ridgeback for 2011 and the USA's No. 4 Ranked Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch in 2010. In addition, Colby was one of a very, very few Dual Champions from Arizona, USA, having been awarded Championship level in both conformation and on the field.

I'm a Championship Show Judge for the breed, Past President of the Arizona Rhodesian Ridgeback Club, and sat on the Board of Directors of the US Based Sighthound Lure Coursing Club, Desert Fun Bunch for several years. I spent over 5 years as an active committee member of The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain, and am a member of good standing of The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States, The Midland and Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club, The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Scotland and the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of GB.   In 2021 I joined the committee of The South Yorkshire Hound Society and am excited to serve alongside some of the UK's top Hound experts

Colkeririn support the work of breed rescue organisations, as well as local, national and international clubs who provide us with invaluable continued education about our wonderful breed.

Thank you for visiting us - we hope you enjoy our beautiful hounds.
